Maintenance & Care

Depending on the type of concrete you have invested in and had installed the care and maintenance will vary.

For your new concrete driveway:

When installing your new concrete driveway we will coat the freshly poured concrete with a cure and seal product. This cure and seal will generally last for the first season. After the first year we recommend having your driveway thoroughly washed and sealed using a water based penetrating sealer. Call us to recommend a specific product for your application.

For your new decorative concrete patio/porch/steps/sidewalk:

Your new decorative concrete has been sealed with a solvent based acrylic sealer. Depending on the type of concrete you have invested in and had installed the care and maintenance will vary. Typically the first coat of sealer will be viable for two to three years. At that time we recommend a light power wash and re-seal. Call us if you have any questions or to recommend a sealer.

For your new concrete countertops:

In the finishing stages of your countertops they were treated with a densifying product, penetrating sealer and finally a food safe beeswax as the top coat. A simple monthly reapplication of the bees wax will keep your countertops looking fresh and help to repel stains.

At Fordson Concrete we typically use products supplied by Deco-Crete Supply (deco-cretesupply.com) We also partner with Patrick Manning at Paddy Power Wash (440-558-6083) to clean and reseal your concrete projects. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about how to care for your concrete.
